AKPARTA Mandala Bhakti Successfully Holds Seminar on Tourism Human Resources 5.0
Jakarta, October 31, 2024 – The Mandala Bhakti Tourism Academy (AKPARTA) successfully held a seminar titled “Preparing Tourism Human Resources in the Era of 5.0 and Digital Technology”, attended by hundreds of participants including professionals in the hospitality and tourism industry, academics, and students. The seminar aimed to provide insights into the importance of human resource (HR) development in the tourism and hospitality sector, especially in the midst of rapid technological advancement and the Industrial 5.0 era. The event, held on the AKPARTA Mandala Bhakti campus, featured several distinguished speakers from the industry.
Seminar Opening
The seminar was officially opened by the Director of AKPARTA Mandala Bhakti, Mrs. Septi Wulandari, S.Si., M.M. In her remarks, she stated, “The tourism and hospitality industry is entering a highly dynamic digital era. Therefore, at AKPARTA Mandala Bhakti we are committed to preparing our students and future workforce to compete globally, equipped with skills that are relevant to technological developments.”
The first speaker, Mrs. Tri Wahyuningsih, S.E., M.M., a tourism industry practitioner, emphasized that preparing HR in hospitality and tourism requires strong character as the foundation for entering the industry. This includes self-development, communication ethics, problem-solving skills, networking, independence and discipline, commitment to continuous learning, and self-reflection.
The second speaker, Mr. Gusti Muchlis, General Manager of Solia Zigna Kampung Batik Hotel Solo, highlighted the two essential skills needed to create Excellent HR 5.0 that can keep pace with the rapid growth of digital technology: soft skills and hard skills. He also underlined the importance of a basic hotelier mentality as the foundation for professionalism, motivation, and work ethics in delivering the best possible performance.
The seminar also provided an open forum for participants to discuss and exchange ideas on the types of training and education needed to enhance the skills and competitiveness of HR in the tourism sector. In addition, the discussion highlighted how technology can improve the tourist experience—from booking and service delivery to destination promotion.
Through this seminar, AKPARTA Mandala Bhakti aims to contribute to shaping a workforce that is ready to face the future challenges of the tourism industry.
