Internasional Seminar “Tourism For Tomorrow: Integrating Sustainability and Eco-Green Principles”

Surakarta, May 26, 2025 – Mandala Bhakti Tourism Academy Surakarta successfully organized the International Seminar of the Diploma 3 Program, Even Semester, Academic Year 2024/2025 with the theme “Tourism For Tomorrow: Integrating Sustainability and Eco-Green Principles.” The seminar brought together participants from three countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

Opening Session
The event officially opened with the singing of Indonesia Raya, followed by the Academy’s March and Hymn. The Director of Mandala Bhakti Tourism Academy, Septi Wulandari, S.Si., M.Pd., delivered her welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in building sustainable and eco-friendly tourism.

Seminar Materials
The seminar was moderated by Lia Dewinta, S.S., M.Hum., and featured three distinguished speakers. The first was Tri Wahyuningsih, SE., MM., a lecturer at Mandala Bhakti Tourism Academy, who discussed strategies for implementing ecotourism principles in the local tourism industry. The second session was delivered by Prof. Ilham Sentosa, Ph.D., from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School, Malaysia, who presented regional perspectives on sustainable tourism innovation. The third speaker, Prof. Pam Hong Long, Ph.D., from VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi, Vietnam, highlighted the importance of integrating eco-green principles in developing international tourist destinations.

The participants were highly enthusiastic, actively engaging in discussions and asking questions during each session. The event also included a certificate presentation to the speakers and a group photo session, creating a warm, interactive, and spirited atmosphere.

Closing
The seminar concluded with the hope that it would broaden the perspectives of both academics and practitioners in realizing the concept of future sustainable tourism. As expressed in the closing prayer by the event hosts, Arnes Anandita, S.Pd., MM. and Marlinda Cesna, S.Pd., “May today’s program bring benefits in this world and the hereafter.”
